Strangely growing up, I have never been a fan of any types of pop sodas, especially this orange beverage with its distinctive and intense coloring that can put a stain on your tongue for hours. but it was a part of a strong imagery of the local corner store that sold everything back in my childhood days, before the chained convenient stores emerged. I still have some old bottles with me for keepsake.
About SLOO Iconics Project
Way before we even launched our SLOO figures we have always wanted to create a series of objects on things which our team grew up with. What is nostalgic for us? Something that really inspired, changed or memorable for us, our teens, when we just started working, and some items which reminded us of some milestones of our time.
There are many visuals that came into view, as being iconic for us can mean anything from a character, a real person, a fictional character, an animal, an object, a brand… the list goes on and on … Finally we have decided to group the first 20 things we thought of and out of that we picked 7 to create the single pieces . Each of these icons contributes a fragment to our journey and no single one is more important than any other.
This series is our creative experimental project on the SLOO figure, It is our homage to things and people which we really liked since we were young, people and things that we can resonate with, or are aspired to be. We will introducing these works and updating the list as we proceed. Each iconic design is made and there is only one piece of each, not for sale but rather a fun and memorable experiment for us which we wish to share on our platforms.
